W. G. Benjey has been crafting tube forming bend fixtures since 2011. Out of one customer's need for an additional fixture supplier, and recognizing the opportunity in that industry, we took the challenge and ran with it.
We purchased a CNC tube bender and began developing and perfecting our own fabrication methods. Since that first order, the business has grown to the point where we now have multiple fabricators working full time strictly on bend fixtures.
Sometimes referred to as 'bend cavities', bend fixtures are used in heat forming of nylon automotive fuel lines. Straight lengths of nylon tube are placed into the fixtures which are then put into an industrial oven. After a time in the oven, the nylon tubes take the shape of the fixtures and will permanently hold that routing after being removed. Nylon tubes can be formed with or without the end connectors in place. Special heat deflecting tooling can be added to the fixtures to shield the connectors from being damaged.
Fabricating bend fixtures is very much an art form. It requires knowledge and experience with the materials to be able to lay out and create a fixture that will function properly. While we bend the steel fixture tubes with a computer-controlled machine, the bulk of the work is done by hand. Fabricators must carve out the tube paths on each individual fixture. And though we may be relatively young, our customer record and growth prove that we are skilled. Contact us today to get more information about our capabilities or to get started on a quote.
